Our mission is to set up "adoptions" between you and the Orphanges around the world. Our initial efforts have been in Mexico and India. We are currently active with St. Patrick's in Villapuram, India. We will be increasing our global reach in the future. The goal is to give a big "bear hug" to the adopted orphanage. This includes providing books, clothes, equipment and even computers.
We have been traveling internationally for decades. In our travels we have made a point of diverting from the well-worn path. In this process we have become acutely aware of the missing safety net for these populations. The most needy of these would certainly be the children. We have visited the orphanages on our trips and are amazed with the love of the caregivers. We also see the hope in the eyes of the children. Our mission is to provide the support and focused attention to each of our sponsored orphanages.
Why Adopt an Orphanage ? We ensure 100 percent of your donations go directly to the sponsored Orphanage. There is no better way to help the world than help a needy child. We strongly encourage your particpation with the orphanage after the donation is made. The transparency and encouragement to visit those sponsored, is a model that is unfortunately not one that is shared by many other childrens charities. This is one of the significant reasons we founded Adopt an Orphanage. We are completely volunteer based and are recieving our Non-Profit (IRS 501(c)(3) ) so your donations are Tax Deductable . Once again, 100% of your donation will go to the orphanages. Our initial focus was on Orfanato's in Mexico. We learned with experience that shiping goods to the orfanato's was problematic. In one instance a full computer lab was held for bureaucratic red-tape. It eventually was returned to California and donated to East Palo Alto. A very disappointing lesson was learned. We now accept only cash donations and monitor the usage at the orphanage.
